JOB TITLE: TERMINAL PLANNER

Job location: Summit, NJ.

Job duration: Permanent position, Full time, Mon – Fri, 40 hours per week.

Number of positions: 1 opening.

Job description: Develop conceptual designs within functional parameters, assist with airport planning studies ensuring compliance with code regulations, analyse 3D Modelling/3D Renderings & research in ArcGIS pro to support design options. Work with clients/subcontractors to fulfil building code requirements/design activities. Prepare reports/deliverables & do graphics/architectural design integrating the Architectural & Engineering elements into unified design using AutoCAD, V-ray, Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino. Compile schematic design drawing set in Revit for development of airport designs.

Education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Urban Planning plus 6 months experience in job offered or as Intern or Engineer or Design Assistant or Architect. Prior work experience must include 6 months experience in 3D modelling/3D Renderings, ArcGIS pro, Revit, AutoCAD, V-ray, Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino.

The Terminal/Aviation Planner is responsible for performing entry-level Airport planning, research, design development, and implementation of aviation programs, projects and studies.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

          • Develop conceptual design and Planning studies for short-term and long-term Airport development projects.
          • Integrate functional, technical and operational requirements to develop terminal plans in coordination with other team members and subconsultants
          • Conduct field surveys, investigations, and collect data in support of airport planning studies.
          • Consult with fellow employees and senior staff on the compilation, interpretation, and presentation of research data for airport planning studies.
          • Prepare draft reports and deliverables based on verbal and written input from others as well individual efforts.
          • Assist in developing, formatting, publishing, and distributing tables, charts, manuals, and maps that deal with existing and proposed airport planning studies.
          • Respond to requests for data and information from internal staff and external clients, organizations, various agencies, and the public.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

          • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Urban Planning.
          • 0-5 years of increasingly responsible experience and desire to learn and grow in airport planning, aviation or related field.
          • Excellent AutoCAD skills
          • Excellent analytical skills
          • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills
          • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills and Technical Experiences:

          • Master’s degree in a field such as aviation consulting, such as Engineering, Architecture, or Planning,

Job Description: Senior Airport Planner – Dallas

Responsible for performing Airport planning with regards to; research, design development, and implementation of aviation programs, projects and studies.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

          • Develop conceptual design and planning studies for short-term and long-term airport development projects.
          • Present and explain the proposed strategy and outcome to the client
          • Assisting clients in setting out formal requirements
          • Organize RFPs and selection of preferred subconsultant, manage subconsultant contracts and identify subconsultant needs
          • Scoping and undertaking studies on airfield layout, apron configuration and passenger terminal planning and surface access planning
          • Data analysis, demand and capacity assessment in support of airport planning studies.
          • and interpretation thereof
          • Leadership of design meetings, site meetings and all other project related meetings
          • Manage the coordination with other Stakeholders/Business Unit experts’ contributions if needed
          • Perform financial analysis (assessment and modelling of CAPEX, OPEX and revenues)
          • Keep up to date with latest industry trends and ensure their dissemination within the team
          • Providing guidance and leadership to more junior members of the team

Jobs Qualifications:

          • Architect/Engineer with minimum 10 years of experience in Airport Planning and Design
          • Strong references in Master Plan studies for small/medium/large airports
          • Must have a well-versed knowledge and understanding of FAA and ICAO/IATA regulations and requirements
          • An understanding of the key drivers of Airport Planning and Development, including the interactions between aviation and airport operations, people and baggage movement, development, design concept, retail, advertising, and surface access.
          • A high sense of accountability with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be quality oriented and have a desire to deliver high quality work on time and on budget
          • The ability to work with a range of project stakeholders, contractors and clients
          • A willingness to travel to undertake short-term assignments
          • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to distil and present technical work to non-technical audiences and be fluent in English.

Preferred Skills and Technical Experiences:

          • Experience of geometric design using AutoCad.
          • Excellent numerical skills including experience of using complex spreadsheets and databases
          • Experience in Airport Modelling and Mapping tools (REVIT, GIS, etc)
          • Experience in airfield and/or terminal operations
          • Environmental impacts of aviation including noise, air quality and carbon assessment
