JOB DESCRIPTION: TERMINAL/AVIATION PLANNER – Dallas

The Terminal/Aviation Planner is responsible for performing entry-level Airport planning, research, design development, and implementation of aviation programs, projects and studies.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

          • Develop conceptual design and Planning studies for short-term and long-term Airport development projects.
          • Integrate functional, technical and operational requirements to develop terminal plans in coordination with other team members and subconsultants
          • Conduct field surveys, investigations, and collect data in support of airport planning studies.
          • Consult with fellow employees and senior staff on the compilation, interpretation, and presentation of research data for airport planning studies.
          • Prepare draft reports and deliverables based on verbal and written input from others as well individual efforts.
          • Assist in developing, formatting, publishing, and distributing tables, charts, manuals, and maps that deal with existing and proposed airport planning studies.
          • Respond to requests for data and information from internal staff and external clients, organizations, various agencies, and the public.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

          • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Urban Planning.
          • 0-5 years of increasingly responsible experience and desire to learn and grow in airport planning, aviation or related field.
          • Excellent AutoCAD skills
          • Excellent analytical skills
          • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills
          • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills and Technical Experiences:

          • Master’s degree in a field such as aviation consulting, such as Engineering, Architecture, or Planning,
          • Complementary education in Aviation Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics would be a plus
          • Prior work experience would be a plus
          • Knowledge of best practices, methods, and principles utilized in strategic planning, infrastructure and facilities planning, and operational research for airports
          • Extensive knowledge of spatial/graphical analysis applications (AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, etc.)
          • Complementary knowledge of analytical techniques and related tools including statistical, spreadsheet, database, and simulation would be a plus
          • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff at client organizations
