Title: SENIOR TERMINAL PLANNER

Job Description:

 

The Senior Terminal Planner will lead the architectural/functional design of the projects, the coordination with building engineering, BHS, airside and landside facilities. This will cover functional planning, envelope and interiors conceptual design and coordination, from competition/conceptual stage to design development. Construction follow-up services may also be considered. The Senior Terminal Planner will be part of the Airport Planning and Design Team depending on the type of projects.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Project Responsabilities:

 

  • Lead the development of conceptual design and planning studies for short-term and long-term airport and terminal development projects, as part of a team of 360° experts from MAv and ADP, and lead/organize/coordinate the team of architects and planners involved in the project
  • Propose architectural, sustainable, technical and cost-efficient innovative solutions based on programmatic requirements that will be defined by the client or the planning/design team, and within budget and planning objectives
  • Present and explain the proposed strategy and outcome to the client, assists clients in setting out formal requirements
  • Coordinate with studies on overall master plan, airfield layout, apron configuration and passenger terminal planning and surface access planning
  • Oversee data analysis, demand and capacity assessment in support of airport planning studies and interpretation thereof
  • Lead planning/design meetings, site meetings and all other project related meetings
  • Contribute as required to financial analysis (assessment and modelling of CAPEX, OPEX and revenues)

 

Team Organization:

 

  • On a project basis, the Senior Terminal Planner may manage a team of architects, planners, and subconsultants responsible for Terminal Planning tasks
  • Contribute to plan resources and time schedule, and ensure follow-up and cost/time control related to resources allocated to the team
  • Manage the coordination with other Stakeholders/Groupe ADP experts’ contributions
  • Keep up to date with latest industry trends and ensure their dissemination within the team
  • Provide guidance and leadership to more junior members of the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Business Development:

 

  • Contribute to Merchant Aviation’s business development by identifying leads, developing networks of potential clients and partners, prepare proposals and participate to the bidding effort.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Senior Architect with minimum 8/10 years of experience in Airport/Terminal Architecture, Planning and Design of medium to large complex terminal building projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of FAA and ICAO/IATA regulations and requirements
  • Extensive knowledge and use of spatial/graphical analysis applications (AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, etc.)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Understanding of the key drivers of Airport Planning and Development, including the interactions between aviation and airport operations, people and baggage movement, development, design concept, retail, advertising, and surface access
  • Creative/strategic thinking and solution oriented
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and related tools including statistical, spreadsheet, database, and simulation would be a plus
  • High sense of accountability with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be quality oriented and have a desire to deliver high quality work on time and on budget
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to work with a range of project stakeholders, contractors and clients
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to distill and present technical work to non-technical audiences and be fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel to undertake short-term assignments, and ability to travel nationally by car and plane up to 15% of the time.

  • Bachelor’s/Master degree in Architecture/Urban Planning – Aviation specialty is preferred

Position Opening: SENIOR TERMINAL PLANNER – DALLAS

The Senior Terminal Planner is responsible for performing  Airport planning, research, design development, and implementation of aviation programs, projects and studies.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Develop conceptual design and Planning studies for short-term and long-term Airport development projects.
  • Serve as the concept guardian to oversee the engineering development of the 30%, 70%, and 100% design phases.
  • Integrate functional, technical and operational requirements to develop terminal plans in coordination with other team members and subconsultants
  • Conduct field surveys, investigations, and collect data in support of airport planning studies.
  • Consult with fellow employees and senior staff on the compilation, interpretation, and presentation of research data for airport planning studies.
  • Prepare draft reports and deliverables based on verbal and written input from others as well individual efforts.
  • Assist in developing, formatting, publishing, and distributing tables, charts, manuals, and maps that deal with existing and proposed airport planning studies.
  • Respond to requests for data and information from internal staff and external clients, organizations, various agencies, and the public.

Job description: Develop conceptual designs within functional parameters, assist with airport planning studies ensuring compliance with code regulations, analyse 3D Modelling/3D Renderings & research in ArcGIS pro to support design options. Work with clients/subcontractors to fulfil building code requirements/design activities. Prepare reports/deliverables & do graphics/architectural design integrating the Architectural & Engineering elements into unified design using AutoCAD, V-ray, Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino. Compile schematic design drawing set in Revit for development of airport designs.

 

Education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Urban Planning plus 6 months experience in job offered or as Intern or Engineer or Design Assistant or Architect.
